Storage tanks
Beckox fabricates thermoplastic storage tanks for acids, alkalis and process chemicals — sized to your footprint and duty, complete with the bunding, level indication and fill and draw pipework that safe chemical storage requires.
Chemical storage done properly
Storage duty looks simple until the detail arrives: venting sized for fill rates, overfill protection, level indication the operator can actually see, fill points at tanker height, and secondary containment for the full held volume. We fabricate the tank and the installation around it, so those details are designed once, by the people building it.
Thermoplastic construction suits the great majority of industrial chemical storage: it is immune to the contents, needs no internal coating or lining, and a welded tank can be repaired or modified in place by the same techniques that built it.
- Vertical and rectangular storage tanks fabricated to fit the space available
- Bunds and lined containment areas for secondary containment
- Fill lines, draw-offs, vents, overflows and level indication
- Ladders, access platforms and pipe supports
- Inspection, repair and modification of existing plastic tanks
Acid and chemical storage
Hydrochloric, sulphuric, nitric and phosphoric acid, caustic soda, sodium hypochlorite and the process chemicals around them are all routine thermoplastic storage duties — but not interchangeable ones. Concentration and temperature change the answer as much as the chemical does: a material comfortable with dilute acid at ambient may be unsuitable for the same acid hot and concentrated, and strongly oxidising chemistry rules some polymers out altogether. Tell us the chemical, its concentration, its working temperature and the volume, and we will confirm the material before quoting — see the materials guide for how the common polymers compare, and bunds and drip trays for the containment around the tank.
Rectangular tanks and awkward spaces
Rotationally-moulded tanks come in the shapes the moulder owns; a fabricated tank comes in the shape the room allows. Where storage has to go under a mezzanine, against a wall, or through an existing doorway in pieces, fabrication is often the only way to get the volume in. Rectangular footprints also use floor space far more efficiently than cylinders when several chemistries are stored side by side, each in its own contained cell.
