Plating lines & modules
Beckox builds complete surface-finishing lines — process tanks, lip extraction, heaters, bunded flooring, GRP walkways, pipework and controls — fabricated in our Poole works as modules and assembled into a working line on your site.
A line, not just a row of tanks
A finishing line succeeds or fails on the detail around the tanks: how solutions are heated and agitated, how fumes are captured at the lip before they reach the operator, how drag-out is managed between stations, how spillage is contained and how the work flows from load to unload. We design and build all of it as one job — which is why much of the equipment in our gallery is photographed as complete rooms rather than single tanks.
Fabricated as modules, assembled as a line
Process modules are built and piped in the workshop, trial-fitted, then broken down for transport and re-assembled on site. That keeps site time — and disruption to your production — to a minimum. Lines can be built progressively around live production where a full shutdown is not an option.
Typical scope
- Process, rinse and drag-out tanks in polypropylene, PVC and PVDF
- Lip extraction hoods ducted to scrubber plant
- Immersion heaters, cooling coils, agitation and filtration
- Bunded and lined containment areas with GRP grating walkways and handrails
- Anode bars, busbar supports, transporter interfaces and control panels
- Line extensions, single replacement tanks and refurbishment of existing plant
Plating plant for zinc, nickel and specialist finishes
The finish drives the tankwork. Alkaline and acid zinc, zinc-nickel, electroless and electrolytic nickel, tin, copper and precious-metal lines all place different demands on materials, heating, filtration and fume capture — an acid zinc line and an alkaline one are not the same plant in a different colour. Tell us the process and the throughput and we will build the wet end around it. Electroless nickel has its own page: electroless nickel plant.
Etching and chemical milling lines
Chemical etching and milling lines are close cousins of plating lines: aggressive etchants, tight temperature control, heavy extraction duty and rinse trains that have to keep up. We fabricate the tanks, extraction and pipework for etch lines to the same pattern as plating plant.
Plating tank repair and line refurbishment
A leaking plating tank stops a production line, so most of this work is urgent. Individual tanks can usually be rewelded, re-rimmed or replaced without dismantling the line around them, and tired lines can be refurbished in stages — new tanks in the worst positions, extraction re-ducted, bunding relined — around production rather than in one shutdown. See plastic tank repair and refurbishment, and anodising tanks if the line is an anodising one.
