Capability
Hoppers & chutes
Beckox fabricates hoppers, chutes and materials-handling equipment in engineering plastics — smooth-surfaced so product flows and does not hang up, corrosion-proof, and available in food-contact grades.
Why plastic for product handling
Plastic's low-friction surface is a genuine process advantage in handling equipment: product slides rather than bridges, nothing rusts, and there is no paint or galvanising to flake into the product stream. Food-contact grades of polypropylene and polyethylene suit ingredient and bakery handling; static-dissipative grades are available where dust demands it.
Hoppers and chutes are fabricated to the line they feed: wall angles chosen for the product's flow behaviour, outlets matched to valves and conveyors, and access panels where blockages would otherwise mean dismantling.
- Feed and surge hoppers with stands and grillage
- Transfer chutes, diverters and telescopic sections
- Food-grade and static-dissipative material options
- Wear liners for existing steel chutes
Lining out steel that has worn through
A common job is not a new hopper at all, but rescuing a steel one: product has scoured the parent metal, or rust is threatening the product stream. A fitted thermoplastic liner welded inside the existing steelwork restores the flow surface, stops contamination and usually outlasts the original finish several times over — without craning the hopper out or stopping the line for long. We template from the existing structure so the liner drops in and fits.
